*The hospital DFAC will be closed for Thanksgiving
*Friday Nov. 17 will be the graduation day for BLC
*Civilians are allowed and encouraged to go to the dining facility for the Thanksgiving meals

Gate 4 lane closures-
Lane closures will be occurring at Gate 4 from the Fort Carson marquee sign to the installation boundary, for asphalt repairs the weekend of Oct. 21-22. Traffic control measures will be in place to safely pass two-way traffic.

Fright Fest - The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation presents Fright Fest Oct. 21 from 4-9 p.m.

The event includes:
--Auto Shop of Horrors, starting at 4 p.m. at the Auto Skills Center. Tickets purchased in
advance are $6.50. Same-day admission is $10. The event includes giveaways. A waiver is required for all participants. Group rate is $20 for 4 people.
--The Pumpkin Spice run starts at 5 p.m. at the Auto Skills Center. Early Bird registration is $10 per person and closes at noon Oct. 19. T-shirt included with paid registration only. Same-day registration is $20 per person, cash only.
--Free activities include a rock climbing wall, face painting, pumpkin decorating,
fall-themed crafts and an outdoor movie: “Hocus Pocus.”

The annual Trunk-or-Treat event sponsored by the Religious Support Office (RSO) will
be held Oct. 22 from 2-3:30 p.m. in the north parking lot of Soldiers' Memorial Chapel.
There will be about 80 vehicles hosting trunks. RSO is recruiting directorates and families
on post to host a trunk for the event. All those who host trunks are expected to bring a good
amount of initial candy to give out to the children. Limited backup candy will be available
to replenish vehicles. Extra candy can be dropped off at the chapel prior to the event.

Army vs. Air Force pep rally- Fort Carson Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation will host a pep rally Nov. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at The Hub prior to the U.S. Military
Academy Black Knights vs U.S. Air Force Academy Falcons football game at Falcon Stadium Nov. 4. During the pep rally, there will be appearances by the Black Knights' cheerleaders,
football players and coaches; music by the Black Knights' Pep Band; a "Devour the Falcon" chicken wing-eating contest; a bonfire burning a wooden falcon; a bouncy house; and face painting. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The event will go on unless post is closed due to inclement weather. Those wishing to attend should park at the Mountain Post Soldier Center, building 1525, parking lot or the Tri-Foods parking lot on Prussman Boulevard.
